The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of storytelling therapy on reducing anxiety and improving social phobia in mentally retarded children in Kermanshah in the academic year of 2018-19. In this study, pretest-posttest design with control group was used. In the present study, 20 children with high anxiety and social phobia were selected as the sample group from the available sample. The experimental group received eight two-hour storytelling sessions for one month and the control group participants were placed on the waiting list. Analysis of findings using independent analysis of covariance showed that storytelling therapy reduced anxiety and social anxiety in mentally retarded children. The most important results of this study are the effectiveness of storytelling method and its usefulness in reducing anxiety and improving social phobia in these children. Therefore, it can be concluded that storytelling therapy has been effective in reducing anxiety and social phobia in mentally retarded children. پژوهش حاضر باهدف تعیین اثربخشی قصه درمانی بر کاهش میزان اضطراب و بهبود هراس اجتماعی کودکان کم‌توان ذهنی شهر کرمانشاه در سال تحصیلی 98-1397 انجام گرفت. در این پژوهش از طرح پیش‌آزمون - پس‌آزمون با گروه کنترل استفاده شد. در پژوهش حاضر از نمونه در دسترس و با اجرای پرسشنامه اضطراب و مقیاس هراس اجتماعی، 20 کودک که دارای اضطراب و هراس اجتماعی بالابودند به‌عنوان گروه نمونه انتخاب شد و به‌صورت تصادفی 10 نفر در گروه آزمایش و 10 نفر در گروه کنترل جایگزین شدند. در گروه آزمایش 8 جلسه قصه درمانی دوساعته به مدت یک ماه بر روی آن‌ها اجرا شد و مشارکت‌کنندگان گروه کنترل در لیست انتظار قرار گرفتند. تحلیل یافته ها با استفاده از تحلیل کوواریانس مستقل نشان داد که قصه درمانی باعث کاهش اضطراب و هراس اجتماعی کودکان کم‌توان ذهنی شده است. مهم ترین نتایج این پژوهش، مؤثر بودن روش قصه درمانی و مفید بودن استفاده از آن در کاهش میزان اضطراب و بهبود هراس اجتماعی این کودکان است. ازاین‌رو می-توان نتیجه گرفت روش قصه درمانی، در کاهش میزان اضطراب و هراس اجتماعی کودکان کم‌توان ذهنی مؤثر بوده است. /downloadfilepdf/186562
